i write until i write something i like.

difficult question. probably dennis rodman.

like a seven? i'm not as fucked up as him, if i was it would be much higher. i think about his line about caramels almost every day.

six. sometimes i feel more comfortable playing second fiddle. i don't think i act like the T.A. but i understand how he feels a lot of the time.

yes.
13. how has your straight edge lifestyle affected your poetry?
well i don't write when i'm drunk and alone. something about how every time i tried to write when i was drunk and alone i felt like i was waging an important battle against myself. like i had to pay attention to my eyes to write. also, when i was drunk and alone i was typically accessing all these emotions and drunk dialing and crying and screaming. i feel like i don't write from such an inherently 'chaotic' perspective anymore. also, i don't smoke when i write anymore. it used to be i'd start a cigarette, write some shit. then like finish the cigarette while i was thinking about the shit. then like wait. i don't do that anymore either. i feel like that was an interesting way to write. also, i don't write as much with mikey. it used to be me and mikey would get wrecked and i'd have him like challenge me, give me these bizarre parameters to write w/in. i really enjoyed doing that. i think the main difference is like, i don't write as much random text for no reason now. that used to be everything i wrote, and sometimes it would be a poem. now it's like i'm always working specifically on some specific thing or whatever.

i do both but i think i do more straight through.
